All you need to know about Author William White

AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY

All you need to know about William White

William White was born in a small farming community in central California. He and his family lived in a place called Farmersville, California, and it was here that he graduated from the eighth grade.  William says that “When looking back at my various educational endeavors I think that I was better educated upon graduation from grammar school than most students are today when graduating from high school. It was here in the eighth grade where I became firmly grounded in the use of proper English and mathematics—two skills that have served me well through the years.”

After high school, William elected not to go directly to College. He spent three years traveling the country while tasting the wine and smelling the roses. William said that “It was a wonderful experience and I have retained some great memories from that time period. I have never regretted that sabbatical.”

He reluctantly gave up the open road for College in 1964 and remained there until the Vietnam War erupted. In mid 1965 he joined the United States Marine Corps and spent the entire year of 1966 engaged in combat in Vietnam. William says that “I wouldn’t take a million dollars for that experience but I wouldn’t do it again for a million dollars.” He was wounded four times and received two purple hearts.

After his stint in the USMC he became an Electrician then eventually a contractor. William has always had the ability to write and he learned early in life the power of words. His first attempt at writing was a training manual he both designed and wrote. It came with six videos with a lesson plan work book as well a technical manual. It was called Alternating Current Motor Controls for Electricians and he guarantees it will put you to sleep faster than a glass of warm milk and cookies.

William took up the hobby of treasure hunting and gold prospecting first as a wholesome activity for his two sons. Once he realized the enjoyment and great recreational value of this endeavor, he pursued this hobby when time permitted. He began documenting his experiences which eventually gave way to his second book Tales of the Caballos. This book is an historical overview of the Caballo Mountains of New Mexico as seen from a Treasure hunter’s perspective. To this day it remains the most popular book he has written and it is this book that launched his new career.

His third book, True Treasure Stories of the Southwest is an eclectic collection of stories based upon his personal experiences. Then came the book Reflections which is a collection of non-treasure stories about some of his more memorable adventures including six stories about Vietnam.

Book number five is called More Treasure Stories and Folklore of the Caballo Mountains and it is the second most popular book mainly because it is a sequel to Tales of the Caballos.  Next was the book Mad Dogs and Treasure Hunters. It is a good read for the whole family. In this book he bundled up the treasure stories he had previously written but never published and put them together.

After Mad Dogs… came his first novel, The Treasure of San Miguel Island, book number seven. It is a good book and the reviews have been kind. It is based on a personal experience of diving for shell fish off the coast of California in 1959.  Both stories are published together with the story Freddie Steel appearing in the epilogue of the novel—both are fascinating stories but the Freddie Steel story is a true one.

William has completed a second novel using the same characters as The Treasure of San Miguel Island  called The Pancho Villa Treasure of the Guadalupe Mountains. He has not released it at this time.  He reports that he is two thirds completed with a third book also using the same characters. It is called The Aztec Treasure of the Caballo Mountains.

William says that writing fulfills his need for creativity and he is flattered that others find his books interesting and fun to read.

William White now makes his home in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico where he continues his writing and gives tours of the Caballo Mountains. He truly loves New Mexico where “the friendliest people in the United States live.”

I was born in Japan December 3, 1975 of Japanese parents. I grew up in Tokorozawa, Saitama. I was hopelessly different from fellow countrymen from childhood on. I daydreamed about the world and  had not had any intimate friends, so I naturally started talking to myself. When I was ten years old, my mother allowed me to buy five books per mouth. From that moment on reading books has become my habit. When I was 22 years old, I determined to see the world; I took a job as a salesman and took various jobs to save money. Besides, I consciously felt that I wanted to be a writer, but I could not dare to imagine myself becoming one someday. I went to Vancouver, Canada to attend a language school where I met my friends. After that, I went to Mexico. And then I went to Australia to study, but after a year, I changed my mind to go back to Vancouver to attend the College. After two semesters, I took a long vacation to travel around Europe to cultivate myself. I was wandering around Germany, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, and Czech Public. After the Euro trip, I left the College, disgusted with the atmosphere of the place and stupidity of the curriculum. I finally let myself walk on my private destiny relentlessly; I decided to spend all my time to dedicate to writing books.

I am an autodidact. I educated myself, taught myself how to write, and instructed myself what kinds of books I should read. My education largely depended on myself; however, my intelligence has somehow reached the ordinary level or more unique level. I truly believe that I did the most difficult thing: I educated myself. Moreover, I really believe that self-education is the best way to be a unique writer.

I wrote Liberation, which is an autobiographical writing. Liberation is the confession of the man who just wants to express himself in earnest, and who simply wants to tell the truth from the depth of his heart. It is a story of the process of a man liberating himself from the place where he does not want to belong so that he can start living his own life in his own sweet way. This book is for my fellow seekers who believe in life and individualism unconditionally and feel that life gives us full of surprises when one follows his destiny relentlessly.

I decided to be a writer, for I wanted to express myself. As a matter of fact, I have always wanted to be an artist since my childhood. The most crucial incident in my life was: I read Henry Mille the first time. He was the man who showed me how wonderful an artist`s life would be and how to be a true artist. And also, he taught me that one must leave everything behind if he wants to be a writer. When I read SEXUS the first time, the ordinary everyday life was finished with me. It had no struggle; I just knew what I had to do. I calmly burned the bridge behind me and jubilantly started living my life in my own way – I was emancipated. Since then, I have never looked back to the past. Furthermore, I want to write like Knut Hamsun that is always in my mind. I have read a great deal of books in my life and admired a number of writers; however, Hamsun is the most on whom I have gotten influenced. I have never read such a beautiful writer. Even I went further to study his books line by line so that I could hopefully find a magic of his writing.

I love expressing myself and love writing my life. I am very lucky to have true friends and love describing our friendship. I live in Vancouver, Canada and am writing another autobiographical material. I have the important mission as a writer in my life and have the reality to write upon.

Notorious Casolini is a novel based on the true story of Peppino, who lived in the early 1900’s in the city of Barrafranca Sicily. Peppino’s family was destroyed by an oppressive and cruel ruling class. It happened because Peppino had a very beautiful sister who turned down the advances of the ruling mayor’s son and married her childhood sweetheart. Her husband was murdered. Peppino was framed for the murder and sentenced to life in prison. By threatening the life of her father and brother she was forced to marry the mayor’s son. Peppino’s father was killed by the Mayor. Some say that Peppino’s sister hung herself as a result. Others believe she was hung by Mayor’s family because she was pregnant and they didn’t want a half-breed in the family. The latter was chosen for the story. Peppino escapes from prison. Through daring and dangerous schemes and miraculous escapes he manages to one by one revenge his family. Peppino’s story is the skeleton of the novel. The people, the incidents, the burning and passionate romances, woven into the novel are pure fiction. The dramatic conclusion is exciting and unexpected. The story is the author’s rendition of how it could have happened.
